DISCOVERY MUSEUM AND NAPA PARTNERSHIP

We have partnered with Napa and the Terry Lee Wells Discovery Museum to put a Children's Car Care Center exhibit at our very own Discovery Museum here in Reno. This new exhibit will contribute to fostering the curiosity of young minds and help encourage an interest in automotive technology.

Our mini-technicians can have fun learning as they work on the child-sized car in a fully stocked repair shop. In this exhibit, they can change a tire, work on the engine compartment, perform diagnostics testing, and even making repair orders.

Everything is nearly in place for this to happen but we need your help with one final step.

We have a goal of raising the remaining $25,000 needed to bring this new Car Care Center to Reno and believe that we can make it happen with some help from our personal family here at A Master Mechanic, our extended family of loyal customers, and neighbors.

Let’s help make something great for our community, plant some seeds for our children's future.

We appreciate any help that you are able to contribute. Make a donation today!

VETERAN IS AWARDED A FORD AT THE ACES BALL GAME BY LOCAL NAPA AUTO CARE CENTERS

Friday, July 26th is Military Appreciation Night at the Aces baseball park. On this day several local Napa Auto Care Centers including A Master Mechanic, Arrow Automotive, Independent Automotive, LT Automotive, Roy Fosters Automotive, Sunshine Service & Alignment, Wayne’s Automotive Center will award a 2000 Ford Expedition to a local vet.

“We wanted to reach out to a vet and let them know our community cares. What better way than to give away a car from our local auto care centers” Dave Finley, owner of six Napa Auto Parts stores, says. “The expedition has been worked on by all seven shops together, everyone pitched in and made it a team effort.”

All shops will be present at the Aces game Friday and an on field presentation will happen during the second inning. The vehicle being awarded will be parked on the front lawn before and during the game. Everyone will be available to talk with patrons and media prior to the game. The vet and his family will be present and greeting the crowd as they filter into the stadium.

Luke Titus, the vet chosen to receive the car, is twenty seven years old and has been married for 9 years. He has four children ages 8, 6, 3 and one year. Their current car does not fit the whole family making it difficult to go places together. He was an army specialist for 4 ½ years and served one deployment in Iraq for fifteen months. Two weeks after leaving his son was born (his second child) and his daughter learned to walk. When he got home both kids were already walking – so he missed out on some precious time in order to serve our country.

He has been a citizen for three difficult years – as the adjustment has proven to be not as easy as he thought. He is currently a student at TMCC studying to be an auto mechanic, something the Napa Auto care centers were not aware of until now. When he arrived home after a 36 hour flight from Iraq he was spit at, cussed at and had things thrown at him. This event is big for Luke and his family. “It shows me that my community does care. We feel blessed and supported. My wife lost her grandmother one month ago – this is like her looking down and helping to bless us. We are so thankful for these business owners reaching out to make a positive difference and there are not words to express how grateful we are for this gift.”

“We hope we can be an example to other business owners. Everyone can have a positive impact on the community they live and operate their business. It is important to make being a part of your community a part of your business model. Paying it forward is rewarding for all.” Shari & Jeff Pheasant, owners of A Master Mechanic live by this philosophy, as do all our local Napa Auto Care Centers.
